The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea. Lifesaving at the RNLI is powered by our people and, to help us do this to the best of our abilities, we are committed to becoming a more diverse and fully inclusive organisation. This is key to our sustainability and will enable us to save lives and communicate our safety messages more effectively. We expect all those involved with the organisation to treat one another with dignity and respect, and to recognise the value that each individual brings.
Our I&D lead has set up 3 employee led Inclusion networks focussed on LGBT, Women's and Disability concerns. The purpose of these networks is to provide support to employees and volunteers who might identify with, or be interested in these issues and to provide advice to the organisation from their different perspectives. We are now at a stage where we need to provide practical support to them so that they can continue to lead: organising events, providing support and promoting understanding of their specific issues.
We are looking for a volunteer to support the networks in this way, in association with our I&D lead. This would suit someone who likes engaging with a variety of people and has an interest in inclusion and diversity issues. Are you someone who is flexible, comfortable using technology, enjoys being involved in a number of different projects, has good organisational skills and would like to play a vital role in helping the RNLI to become a more inclusive place to work and volunteer? If so, this could be for you.
