I am Somebody's Child Soldier (IamSCS) is an international charity committed to empowering war-affected individuals and populations through improved wellbeing and strengthened community inclusion. Specifically, improving the mental health of up to 1000 war-affected individuals and facilitating the creation of an environment that is conducive to the sustainable (re)integration of war affected individuals. IamSCS is currently working with Laroo ADRA School in Gulu, northern Uganda, to support its work with 800 war-affected children.

Many of these children come from impoverished backgrounds and have encountered extreme hardship in their lives with some being hearing-impaired as a result of their exposure to the Lord's Resistance Army conflict.

In the run up to Christmas, we have booked a number of sites across London to facilitate volunteer bucket collections. We are very keen to recruit passionate volunteers to help raise funds for our important work and to raise awareness of the charity.

We need passionate, enthusiastic and cheerful volunteers to engage with the public, asking them to make donations into a collection bucket. Our volunteers will need to represent the charity to a professional standard.

Come join us this Christmas for a fun and memorable team fundraising experience!

Volunteers are required from the following dates and times: 10th December 2018 until 31st January 2019 between 10am and 5pm.

Even if you can only spare an hour or two, it would be a great to have you help the charity raise crucial funds!

  • You must be comfortable standing for a few hours.
  • You must be able to arrange your own travel to the collection site, although travel expenses will be reimbursed.
