The Nurture Group Network (NGN) exists to promote the development of nurture groups and whole-school nurture practice that helps remove barriers to learning for pupils with social, emotional, mental health and/or behavioural difficulties. Nurture groups are classes of between six and 12 children or young people in early years, primary or secondary setting supported by the whole staff group and parents. NGN aims is to make the nurture approach available to all pupils who need it and also to ensure that the connections between learning and early development are understood throughout education. Over the years, the work of NGN has expanded beyond nurture groups thanks to a great interest in whole-school approach in nurture. In partnership with the school's leadership team, the Nurture Group Network aims to embed a whole-school approach to nurture and underpin strategies that ensure all children experience the values of a nurturing environment.

NGN is a growing organisation and following a skills audit combined with trustees nearing the end of their tenure, the Board is seeking three new members. Outside of the commitment and skills required to govern, the following experiences are highly sought: Education, Research and Communications. The Board would welcome applications from people who are currently under-represented particularly in terms of ethnic and UK geographical diversity. Some experience of the issues that often impact on the children and young people who lack a nurturing environment, possibly through direct experience or special needs would also be desirable.

If you feel you have the passion and skills that are required to join this Board, please get in touch with Brigitte Stundner to discuss further and/or request an information pack: 02071986060 or executive@tpp.co.uk

The closing date is 9am 27th April 2018.
