For nearly 30 Years Thames Hospice has been able to do extraordinary work with patients and families in our community. Our Mission is to provide and support the best palliative and end-of-life care to our community, giving dignity and comfort to those facing life-limiting illnesses and we are totally committed to delivering it.
We have ambitious plans to extend the care and support we provide to our community including building a new Hospice and we are looking to recruit additional Trustees on to our Board to support us at this pivotal point in our history. We are particularly interested in hearing from potential Trustees with expertise in the following areas:
- Financial Management
- Retail Management
Thames Hospice is a very special charity based in Windsor, Berkshire whose expert care is given to people living with life-limiting illnesses in East Berkshire and South Buckinghamshire. We care for the physical, social and psychological needs of our patients, not just the condition. Our highly skilled medical team works with the patient, their family and carers, to develop a complete programme of care tailored to their individual needs.
Our services include therapy, nursing and medical care, as well as practical and emotional support in our Hospice at Windsor and in patients' homes. We employ around 180 staff and have the support of 500 volunteers.
It costs more than £7million every year to keep our Hospice running. We rely on 80% of our income from charitable donations, which enables us to provide our services free of charge, 365 days a year, to the people who need us. For more information take a look at our film on www.thameshospice.org.uk.

Candidates need to be enthusiastic and committed with an interest in End of Life Care and an understanding of decision-making within the context of collective responsibility.
Trustee positions are unpaid, but all reasonable expenses will be reimbursed. Appointment will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
