The Nurture Group Network (NGN) is a charity aiming to improve the lives of children and young people. It exists to promote the development of nurture groups, an evidence-based  inclusive intervention that helps remove barriers to learning. Its aim is to make the nurture group approach available to all pupils who need it and also to ensure that the connections between learning and early development are understood throughout education, supporting the development of Nurturing Schools. Nurture groups are classes of between six and 12 children or young people in early years, primary or secondary settings.

NGN is a growing organisation and following a skills audit combined with trustees nearing the end of their tenure, the Board is seeking three new members. In addition to the commitment and skills required to govern, the following experiences are highly sought: fundraising, business development or marketing (perhaps from a membership organisation), education, and communications/public affairs. The Board would welcome applications from people who are currently under-represented particularly in terms of ethnic and geographical diversity. In terms of geography currently Scotland and Northern Ireland are under-represented. Some experience of the issues that often impact on the children and young people who participate in nurture group programmes, possibly through direct experience, would also be welcome.

If you are interested in discussing this opportunity further, please get in touch with Brigitte Stundner or Rob Hayter on 020 7198 6060 or at to request an information pack. The closing date is Friday June 3rd 2016.
