The Foyer Federation is a network charity that works with over 70 Foyers across the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland. Foyers provide housing and support for young people aged 16-25 experiencing homelessness.
Our main objective is to transform opportunities for young people who have come from very difficult backgrounds and can no longer live at home. Our goal is for residents to move-on from Foyers to independent living with the right life skills for this to be sustainable. We aim to break the cycle of youth homelessness by encouraging an asset-based approach within Foyers to empower residents to engage in work and education.
We do this by:
- Running a number of programmes and training courses
- Building partnerships between employers and Foyers
- Sharing best practice between Foyers in our network
- Providing an asset based quality assurance programme
We are looking for two Trustees for our Board, one with experience in the Legal Sector and one with experience in Building Development. The role of a member of the Foyer Federation Board is to govern its work, help it achieve its charitable objectives and meet its legal requirements. Board members are both Directors of the Company Limited by Guarantee and Trustees of the Charity.
