MOOL is looking for a trustee who will take an active part in the work of the charity and of the board. Ideally we want someone who will be able to devote the equivalent of one day a week to our organisation.

Who we are

Massive Outpouring of Love (MOOL) is a humanitarian movement dedicated to helping people in need wherever they are, be that locally or across the globe; while ensuring that the human element of the situation is at the heart of all we do.

The movement was born in September 2015, initially as a way to humanise the refugee crisis through the writing and distributing of notes of support and hope, but before long, we were sending aid, funds and human kindness all around the world. It also became a catalyst for change, galvanising people to take action; educating and raising awareness, and helping people realise that they can facilitate change if they speak up and speak out.

In practical terms we send clothes and other aid with messages of support to people on the refugee road in Europe and further afield and continue to foster strong links with established groups on the ground, which helps us identify how to best help in which area. We have been heavily involved in the settling of Syrian refugees in our area through the VPRS scheme and also help people locally through partnerships with local food banks and the Independent Living Support service. We are also involved in a number of creative and artistic projects helping to raise awareness and stimulate discussion around the situation of refugees and migrants.

The bulk of our work and the board meetings themselves take place in Dumfries. We also run projects and activities across the region

What we need

We need people who passionately share our ethos are happy to get involved, hands on, with our day-to-day work as well as the work of the board. The board meets approximately once every two to three months but much of our business is conducted through email. We are a very friendly warm group and would be delighted to welcome a new member or members.
