Cruse Bereavement Care is the UK’s largest bereavement charity and a world leader in bereavement care. For over 50 years we have been supporting people throughout England, Northern Ireland and Wales suffering after bereavement. Last year we supported over 500,000 bereaved people, including over 5,000 bereaved children and young people.
This is an exciting time to be part of Cruse as we develop our next strategy to ensure our organisation continues to provide the highest standards of bereavement care whilst adapting to the needs of a changing world. There are now opportunities to join our Board of Trustees and help Cruse develop and sustain the vital services we deliver through over 5,000 dedicated and trained volunteers.
We are seeking individuals with skills, expertise and experience in legal, HR, diversity, digital and change management, together with significant board level experience in the voluntary, public or private sector and a successful track record of delivery. You will need a strong sense of accountability, good strategic thinking as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a passion for the aims of Cruse.
Working with the Chair, Board of Trustees and Directorate Team you will help us realise the strategic priorities of Cruse. You will need to be able to commit to preparation and attendance at four meetings a year and some sub-committee meetings as well as the Annual General Meeting. There is usually a Board Strategy Day in addition to this. The posts are non-remunerated but reasonable travel expenses will be paid.
