You are given the opportunity to work with an outstanding charity delivering care/support to vulnerable people across the UK. You will be working with adults with learning disabilities and mental health conditions in the Saffron Walden area. Please see details of the role below:
You will engage, encourage and motivate customers to maintain and enjoy living well in their homes. We are looking for people who care about what they do and genuinely want to help customers to achieve a better quality of life through the professional support you will deliver.
You will provide an excellent, professional and responsive service starting with a 6 day training programme and mentoring/shadowing from experienced supportive senior staff. Who will train you and ensure you have the capabilities to provide the best services to customers.
Your responsibilities to the customers will be to provide, physical, practical and emotional support so they are able to live independently in their own homes. There are a variety of duties you will perform to support the Customer in being able to live independently. This can be anything from assisting the customer with cooking, budgeting, cleaning, their personal care and mobility to, activities such as shopping and outings.
You will establish a supportive relationship with the customer in line with their individual care plans. You will be expected to also feedback to Care Co-ordinators any improvements or changes in the customer’s needs.
No qualifications or previous experience necessary although desirable
Good interpersonal skills
Ability to work flexible shift patterns that span 7 day rota from 7am - 10pm (part time and full-time hours available- min 15 hours per week, full time hours are 37.5 per week)
Positive attitude, motivation and willingness to develop skills within the support worker role.
Car Driver or ideally local to Saffron Walden
6 day training academy with a CQC Care Certificate once training is completed
Mentoring and Shadowing by Senior Care staff
25 days holiday + bank holidays (staff receive time and a half for bank holidays)
44p per miles car allowance
Flexible shift patterns (min 15 hours per/week)
