About the client:
Our client is a national charity who specialise in supporting adults with learning disabilities to live a quality life. They believe people are entitled to live their life the way they choose.
Established in the 1960’s, our client works in partnership with the people they support, their families, carers and health professionals to develop effective services that will help people live the life they choose.
About the role:
As a support worker in a residential service, you will be expected to work as part of a team to support each resident to live a full life. You will promote choice and independence whilst being caring and compassionate. The job will have minimal physical challenges and some personal care (for only 1 resident). You will work on rota as part of the team providing activities/ life skills support and company and compassion to those you support.
You do not need to have a lot of experience supporting people, a minimum of 6 months (voluntary or paid) working with vulnerable clients will suffice. Our client wants you to be proactive, have a great sense of humour, hardworking, compassionate and not be afraid to get involved! Due to the location of the home, you will need to be a driver and have access to a vehicle.
