We have an exciting opportunity for you to join an internationally renowned centre for teaching in a permanent role as a Student Data & Management Information Officer. This is a permanent, full-time position and all staff are currently home based. The client can also potentially offer a fully remote position thereafter otherwise, a hybrid role is also suitable to be part-based at their offices in Kings Cross. You will join a small, friendly, supportive team and the client offers additional flexibility with your working pattern should you wish.

The role:

You will be responsible for ensuring effective and high-quality student data collection and reporting student data. You will also assist in the preparation and update of the student academic timetable.

The team are responsible for developing and providing reports/management information to internal colleagues as well as meeting statutory obligations. The post holder will be required to create and develop a range of reports and will also support the preparation and submission of the institute's reports to external agencies.

Main duties include:

Data Analysis and Reporting;

  • Data analysis and creation and maintenance of reports / relevant documents

  • Supporting the production and submission of statutory student data returns e.g. HESA, OfS

  • Ensuring data quality through adherence with applicable statutory body standards

  • Overseeing project implementations and producing project plans as requested by the Student Data and Management Information Manager

Student Records System (SITS):

  • To assist in maintaining system based data and processes in conjunction with the IT team

  • Coordinating the implementation of Tribal updates (ad hoc) and annual system upgrades, evaluating the impact and testing the outcomes

  • To coordinate the processing of various data imports (such as UCAS applications) and planning appropriately for any internal or external changes that may affect such processes

  • To work proactively to test new developments within SITS Client and e:Vision to ensure that the user experience is improved and data quality enhanced

  • As a SITS "Superuser", provide training and guidance to SITS users, including developing and preparing procedural documents and training manuals/materials

  • Ensuring that the Timetable is accurately implemented on CELCAT

The client seeks candidate who have:

  • Experience in a similar role within another University

  • Experience and confidence in using the student record system SITS

  • Strong IT skills, particularly using Excel to extract large data sets

  • Knowledge of relevant issues in HE, particularly those relevant to student data and records management.

  • It is desirable, but not essential to have completed HESA returns
