A youth charity are looking to recruit a STEM Development Worker (Engineering) as part of a new project they are looking to roll out to encourage and inspire young people to take up the subject, particularly those who are currently underrepresented in the profession. This is a part time role for 21 hours, looking to pay £29k pro rata, (17,400).
You will be responsible for delivering Marine Engineering workshops in schools across London in order to raise awareness and interest in Marine Engineering as a potential career choice. You will also play a key part in making Engineering training more accessible to young people and helping them understand how the skills they develop are aligned to engineering Careers.
To be successful in the role you will have a strong knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. You will also have some teaching or training experience, and the ability to implement new and innovative training projects as part of the organisation's strategic objectives in what is a challenging and exciting role. The role will involve driving a 4 x 4 double cab pickup with a trailer, so a full driving licence with category B+E is also required. The role will be based in London with travel across the South East and occasionally the rest of the UK.
