This national healthcare and research charity is seeking a key member of the fundraising team to play a major role in identifying funding opportunities for projects and activities. You will be a responsible for proactively undertaking research into funding opportunities and securing income from large grant-making bodies such as the big Lottery Fund, The Health Foundation and a wide range of funding sources.

Responsibilities include 

  • Writing and submission of applications to statutory funders, including research of prospect's priorities and procedures
  • Reporting on grants received, with collaborative working with other departments to identify and develop funding prospects
  • Representing the organisation at external meetings and events, liaising and networking with a range of stakeholders
  • Working with internal teams to ensure information is available in formats able to be utilised by all fundraisers
  • With the Head of Relationship Fundraising to develop a statutory funding strategy, producing a long term timetable of grant applications 
  • To develop, manage and report on market intelligence on partnership opportunities while identifying new funding streams

Applicants should have a thorough understanding of charity fundraising. You will have demonstrable experience of research and proposal writing and securing gifts for income generation purposes with an understanding of the principles of excellent donor stewardship. Highly organised and proactive, you will have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to compile powerful cases for support in an inspiring and confident way. Your ability to articulate complex scientific work in a compelling way to target audiences is also key.

This role is being offered on a part time basis 22.5 hours per week.
