A small Christian charity based in south-west London is seeking a sole charge Finance Officer for a 4 day per week permanent role. The role will be responsible for key aspects of accounting including payment of supplier invoices, banking and salaries; to prepare regular management accounts and year-end accounts.
The charity focuses on a range of grant-giving and international outreach programmes and education initiatives - helping the poorest communities in the world. This role is for 28 hours per week and can be split over 4 or 5 days.
The role will involve:
-To process incoming invoices for payment, deal with supplier queries as necessary and reconcile supplier statements
-To set up and process foreign currency payments
-To prepare monthly management accounts for the Director
-To be involved in preparing annual budgets and inputting budgets into the accounts
-To be responsible for monthly payroll (using Sage payroll system), including pension auto-enrolment, taxation and National Insurance.
-To record all incoming cheques and receipts (including importation of transactions from bank systems) and liaising with banks, as required.
-To record and process grants.
Candidate requirements:
-Experience processing invoices and completing reconciliations
-Experience preparing and contributing to the analysis of management accounts and year-end accounts
-Experience with Quickbooks desirable but not essential
-Sole charge experience preferred
-Experience with running a small Payroll highly desirable
-Experience in a small charity highly desirable
-AAT qualification or part-qualified ACCA / CIMA
-Strong Excel
-Sympathetic to the aims and values of a Christian organisation
