Volunteering Role:

Silverstone Classic Collection Crew Volunteers (Friday 26 August, Saturday 27 August. Sunday 28 August 2022)

About the opportunity

Alzheimer's Research UK has partnered with Silverstone Classic, the world's biggest retro racing festival. The weekend festival will take place on Friday 26, Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 August 2022. The Silverstone Classic plays host to 100,000 visitors and provides them with great racing, displays of over 10,000 privately owned cars, and plenty of family entertainment.

We are looking for volunteers to help at this fantastic event by providing attendees with the opportunity to donate as they hop on/off the fabulous Alzheimer's Research UK branded buses that whizz attendees around the Silverstone circuit. You'll be part of an enthusiastic team of volunteers wearing your orange Alzheimer's Research UK T-shirt with pride and collecting money to raise vital funds for dementia research.

About Alzheimer's Research UK

Alzheimer's Research UK is the UK's leading dementia research charity. We are dedicated to making breakthroughs in diagnosis, prevention, treatment, and cure.

Dementia is caused by physical diseases, and diseases can be cured.

Backed by our passionate scientists and supporters, we fund and deliver pioneering research. We challenge the way people think about dementia and bring together the people and organisations who can speed up progress.

We believe that medical research can and will deliver life-changing preventions, treatments and one day, a cure for dementia. Alzheimer's Research UK exists to make this happen.

With your support, we'll make breakthroughs possible.

Time commitment

Collections will take place on all three event days with the following shifts available:

  • Morning: 00am - 2.00pm (with a 30-minute break)
  • Afternoon: 1:00pm - 6:00pm (with a 30-minute break)
  • All day: 00am - 6.00pm (with a lunch break + 2 shorter breaks)

You can volunteer for shifts on one day, 2 days or the entire weekend - it's up to you!

What are we looking for?

  • Positive and friendly personality in representing Alzheimer's Research UK
  • Happy to get stuck in, volunteering alongside others as part of a team.
  • Someone who listens, communicates well and is reliable.
  • You'll need appropriate clothing to keep you comfortable - the collections will be outdoors.
  • Enthusiasm and a passion for the work of Alzheimer's Research UK.

Why get involved?

In return, as one of Alzheimer's Research UK's Collection Crew volunteers you'll benefit from:

  • Free access to the festival to enjoy the exhibitors, racing and atmosphere at this prestigious event
  • Gaining new volunteering experience alongside people from your local community
  • Support from a dedicated member of staff who will provide advanced briefing
  • All collecting materials will be provided including a free Alzheimer's Research UK orange T-Shirt
