An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a leading children's health charity that had an income of £23 million last year. The charity has an excellent reputation nationally and now they want to extend this internationally by bringing together two previously separate brands.
You will split your time between corporate and major donor fundraising. Within corporate fundraising you will focus your time bringing in new business or corporate partners, especially in relation to charity of the year. Presently, the charity has a very small charity of the year partnership with a well-known pizza takeaway chain. They want to build on this success so that they can bring in much bigger partnerships worth up to £100k. To do this you will need to be driven and seek out warm opportunities with relevant corporates. From this you will have the confidence to make pitches and build meaningful relationships.
You will then spend the other 50% of your time on major donor fundraising. You will work with warm donors to ensure high quality stewardship and rebuild relationships with cold donors who used to give between £20k and £50k donations. Finally, you will identify a new and existing pool of donors who could potentially give £5k+ donations.
You will have a good track record in fundraising or in new business within the commercial sector. You will be ambitious and tenacious enough to win new business. You will have excellent face to face interpersonal and communication skills to win new relationships. Finally, you will be passionate about the cause in order to engage and enthuse donors with the charities work.
You will receive a salary of £33,145 or more depending on experience, 25 days holiday plus Christmas to New Year closure, 5.5% pension contribution and an annual incremental pay rise, plus cost of living increase in June. Flexible working allowances might be considered once embedded in the role.
