This leading mental health charity is looking for a Senior Parliamentary Officer to join their team.
Mental health is receiving more political attention than ever before. The 2017-19 Parliament will be of critical importance to this charity: the Prime Minister has made clear that mental health is a personal priority, the Government is undertaking a review of the Mental Health Act, a Private Member's Bill on the use of force in mental health settings is making its way through Parliament, and the Five Year Forward View for Mental Health (the national plan for mental health) is being rolled out across England.
The appointed candidate will have:
- Solid experience of working within a public affairs or parliamentary role
- Good understanding and experience of using a range of campaigning techniques and how to use
them to good effect
- Significant experience of involving service users or stakeholders in parliamentary work and an
understanding of the value of involving people with experience of mental health problems at all
stages of the policy and campaigning process
