Our client is a reputable charity and this team in particular boasts both a progressive ethos (including flexible working hours) and most importantly, a warm, sociable, team-orientated working culture.
The Communications Team are now looking to add a Senior Media Officer to their team for a period of 6 months on a fixed-term contract.
As a core team member, you will report into the Communications Manager, spending your time working closely with colleagues across the charity to identify the stories tha will raise awareness of their work. You will also manage the charity's press office which will include taking calls from journalists, managing any queries and case studies as well as practively trying to gain secur coverage around the areas that they work within. It is also worth noting that the charity has a couple of exciting campaigns that this post may be involved in.
You will also have the opportunity to proactively identify, initiative and manage news stories as well as manage the day-to-day running of the organisations' social media channels, making any recommendations from a development point of view and provide monitoring on their effectiveness.
This is ideal for those of you who are able to manage both proactive and reactive workloads. Previous experience of Public Relations is key for this role as well as experience of managing social-media platforms. This will also candidates with a good eye for detail for spotting a good story.
Your audience will also include internal stakeholders, coordinating media work on relevent projects and providing them with advice and guidance on media issues.
