TPP is currently working with a charitable organisation who provide support services and advice around pregnancy, birth and early parenthood.

They are seeking to hire a Senior Media & Communications Officer on a permanent basis. Working in the Communications and Campaigns team, you will be working with the Senior Communications and Engagement Manager to help shape and deliver our client's reactive and proactive media relations, which is aligned to the charity's strategic priorities.

Your duties and responsibilities across press, content creation and monitoring and impact, will include :

  • Manage media requests, prioritising effectively and ensuring opportunities are fully maximised.

  • Plan, write and issue reactive press communications in response to external announcements and promote across appropriate media, social and digital channels.

  • Proactively look for opportunities to tell our client's story.

  • Organise, support and manage press activity and events including filming and interviews.

  • Assist in the development and handling of crisis communications.

  • Develop good working relations with key journalists on national, regional and in trade media (print, broadcast and online).

  • Create and commission creative and compelling content and copy for use across all external communications platforms.

  • Ensure that all media coverage is recorded and compiled and provide updates and reports analysing impact.

Your knowledge, skillsets and experience will include :

  • At least 3 years experience of working in an integrated communications environment, including dealing with national media.

  • Proven track record of developing and implementing media and communication strategies that deliver impact across multiple channels.

  • A team player.

  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing and networking skills with the ability to establish credibility with both internal and external stakeholders.

  • A determination to dig out potential news stories across the organisation.

  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to write accurate and engaging copy for traditional media, social media and website.
