Calling all Senior Communication Officers!

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Communications Officer / Manager to join the UK's leading cervical cancer charity, to work on a website upgrade and to ensure all aspects of the digital function are embedded within the work of the charity.

This Charity offers an incredible service to individuals and families, whether that's information, support, research or through their popular, national campaigns.

This role will be responsible for devising and delivering creative campaigns and communications strategies to reduce the impact of cervical and increase awareness. You'll be joining a small team that packs a punch and bring new ideas as well as experience of creating content for a wide range of purposes. You'll own their PR strategy helping to identify opportunities to tell compelling stories, deliver facts and support our campaigns.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Head of Communications and Policy to develop and deliver the PR and communications strategy

  • Deliver effective and creative charity campaigns including national awareness weeks and marketing campaigns Manage our media volunteers including interviewing new volunteers and identifying opportunities for them to tell their stories to support the needs of the charity and wider cervical community

  • Lead on internal communications ensure staff are updated on relevant external or internal news, and key messages are circulated Deputise for the Head of Policy and Communications as required

  • Evaluate the success of communications, providing reports and identifying areas for development and opportunities

  • Manage Communications Assistant

  • Responsibility for communications channels including social media, blogs and newsletters

  • Work with external suppliers to produce high quality materials and resources including reports and annual reviews

  • Assist with celebrity/influencer acquisition and liaison

Your experience & Skills

  • Proven experience in a public relations or general communications role

  • Strong written skills including the ability to tell stories effectively and communicate scientific subject matter in an easy-to-understand way

  • Experience of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)

  • Ideally you will have line management experience

  • An excellent communicator with the ability to build strong relationships with a wide range of individuals

  • Excellent attention to detail and proof-reading skills

This role is flexible hybrid working option
