A rapidly growing Education Charity who are dedicated to improving reading and writing levels of disadvantaged children and communities in the UK are recruiting now for someone to manage their School Improvement Programme.
The role can be offered up to 35hrs per week but does have some flexibility for those only wanting to work part time.
The charity works closely with secondary schools to improve support for literacy and ensure it underpins all areas of Teaching and Learning through delivering an innovative programme that develop pupils' ability to communicate effectively in all subjects. Following this successful pilot programme, funding has been secured to increase the number of schools taking part in direct programme delivery and training and thus increasing its reach and impact.
As the Programme Manager for School Improvement, you'll be an experienced education professional and will lead the Literacy Programme, positioning it as the leading national programme for raising literacy levels in secondary education.
You'll manage all aspects of programme development and delivery, meeting targets for the number of schools engaged in training and working with colleagues and consultants based across the country to manage relationships and reporting to funders.
You'll directly manage two remote consultants and an administrator and will have be constantly involved in contract management with freelance associates and suppliers. Externally, you'll work with key funders and partners at the most senior level and will have regular communications with schools and trainers.
To be considered for this role, you must have extensive experience of secondary school leadership and literacy pedagogy including being up to date with current literacy policy and practice in schools.
You must have an outstanding record of strategically leading literacy in a school environment and successfully delivering on secondary school improvement either as a consultant or as a senior leader.
You'll stand out even further if you have education related programme experience in a charity or public sector context.
