  1. Main Purpose of role

To support our shops to give customers the best possible experience in store, to make sure they have a fantastic time and come back again and again.

Our network of 420 retail stores represents the charity in many communities and on numerous high-streets and retail parks across the UK. Our shop teams are the friendly faces of our stores. They are made up of staff and volunteers who undertake equally important roles.

Do boutique clothing shops get you excited? Do you love vintage and retro fashion? Do haberdasheries make you want to create new designs? Looking to be more eco-friendly? Come help us run one of our special retail shops.

Delve into our treasure trove of items donated to us and select the items that will raise vital funds. Your talents will be recognised as we offer you the opportunity to use your artistic and fashion spirit to create attractive displays. You'll be involved in the shop, assisting customers is also a major part of the role; full training will be provided.

  1. Role Overview

Join Sue Ryder's small friendly team in one of our Greater Manchester Retail Shops as a Customer service &volunteer Till Operator and use your customer service skills to provide service with a smile. Our tills are really easy to use and as a till operator you'll be the face of our shop. You'll be focussed and friendly, take payments, pack goods, and spot opportunities to make additional sales. - Making sure customers leave wanting to come back.

We'll need you to:

- be really friendly and approachable

- have common sense

- use your own initiative

- have the ability to stay calm under pressure

( AM & PM daily flexible times to suit between 9:30AM and 4:30pm

You need to be the type of person who:

- is customer focussed, patient and attentive

- can work as part of a team

Previous retail experience would be great but it's not essential. You need to be a friendly, helpful person who enjoys talking to people.
