About the Organisation:

TPP’s client is a disability and community engagement charity that delivers a variety of community projects, disability care services and training resources across the UK. They are looking for community-minded people to join their team at a residential service in Edgware, Middlesex which offers living spaces for up to 24 disabled people.

The Role:

You will provide support and encouragement to Service Users, in the activities of daily life, according to their needs and in line with their individual person-centred plans and direction from senior colleagues. You will support Service Users within agreed and identified routines as set out in daily/weekly activities planners providing as required personal care (e.g. washing, dressing, toileting, eating and mobility), respecting their dignity, privacy independence and rights as far as possible. You will also assist Service Users with range of activities including personal shopping, preparing & serving meals (ensuring that any food provided meets the food hygiene standards and their nutritional needs) and where required manage their finances in line with policy and procedures.

About You:

Relevant experience is welcomed, but not essential, as you’ll be given a Person-Centered Plan that covers everything from how to physically move someone to the best ways to be ‘inclusive’ in everything you do. As each resident is unique, you will be shown the best way to communicate with them and encourage them to voice their own choices and needs. You will preferably have a Care Certificate or a NVQ2 qualification, in Health & Social Care. You will need to be flexible and willing to work shifts on a rota system. All posts are subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.
