TPP are working with a children's charity to recruit a Research and communications officer. This is an exciting time to join the charity as they have growth plans over the next year.
The purpose of this role:
Manage and deliver the external and internal research needed to enable the Philanthropy Team to maximise voluntary income, support and awareness.
Develop and manage the Philanthropy Communication Programme, including production of all written copy to ensure all existing and new supporters receive appropriate and timely information.
Some of the key responsibilities:
Work to team objectives by supporting the Philanthropy Team in generating and cultivating new business and manage existing profitable relationships with supporters.
Work with established and developing internal business systems to support recording and monitoring of client relationships and new business developments, ensuring practices adhere to
policies and protocols, fundraising best practice, IOF codes and relevant legislation at all times
Work collaboratively with colleagues, other departments/sections/teams in the planning, delivery and development of the Philanthropy Communication programme and delivery of research.
Produce research and communications to an exceptional standard to be presented to CEO and senior management level both internally and externally.
Work closely with colleagues across the organisation to identify new funding opportunities which can be presented to donors, ensuring clear objectives and outcomes of the work are identifiable.
Work with colleagues to prepare accurate and timely reports relevant to the requirements of the donor and their support.
Undertake primary and desk research to identify major donors and their activities and maintain a valid and current prospect research list.
Research and prepare profiles, reports, individual development plans on existing and prospective donors and keep records up to date.
Keep abreast of market trends and developments in Major Gift fundraising.
Writing and Communication
Manage and deliver Philanthropy communication programme, including regular analysis and reporting to ensure continual improvement and development.
Write fundraising copy, ranging from cases for support, proposals and project overviews for existing and prospective supporters.
Plan, write and produce reports for key donors within agreed timelines.
To be successful in this role you will require:
Working within a fundraising/marketing/sales environment. Demonstrating a track record of maintaining and growing existing and developing new business.
Experience of developing and maintaining key relationships with senior supporters including VP's and Trustees.
Conduct effective research and planning approaches resulting in significant new income/business.
Presentation of research to a variety of audiences including senior level supporters and senior internal management.
Communicate effectively - verbal and written.
Work as a self managed team member in order to meet individual and team objectives.
Managing a varied workload, prioritising accordingly while focusing on key objectives
Research, Marketing and sales techniques.
Understanding of working in a large organisation.
Understanding of equalities and diversity and how it affects this position, the organisation and supporters.
