We are recruiting for a Regional STEM Coordinator for a vibrant and growing charity who work with young people as well as offer personal development to professionals in their field. This is part-time role (3 days per week) travelling across the North east of England.

The Regional STEM Coordinator will be supporting a joint venture in raising awareness of engineering in schools to inspire young people in following a career in STEM. Using innovative technology, you will be delivering workshops in schools and colleges across the North East of England, together with attending STEM events and careers fairs. Together with design and delivery, you will coordinate the use of pods to make training more accessible to young people and provide them with an understanding of how the skills they will develop are aligned to careers within their specialist sector.

As someone with a teaching or training background, ideally at a subject leader or curriculum leader level, you will have a passion in STEM and have the ability to engage, motivate and challenge students from a variety of backgrounds. Due to the nature of the role, driving would be an essential requirement. Ideally you will have some sort of background in engineering, however so long as you have experience of teaching a science or technology subject the organisation feels confident that the right person will quickly pick up all they need to know about engineering to run the programme and deliver sessions.

This organisation are very passionate about their cause, and even though this is a Fixed Term Contract until the end of December 2018, you would be made to feel a part of the team from the outset. This role does have an imminent start, so should you wish to apply please do so before Sunday the 13th of August 2017.
