A leading national charity who work to create a society safe from prejudice and discrimination by partnering with schools, local authorities, criminal justice education services and other organisations are recruiting for a Regional Manager for their West Midlands Education programmes to drive delivery to young people in school and community settings.
Established for nearly 20years you will be part of a small but dedicated and collaborative team who use the life and diary of Anne Frank and the Holocaust, making direct links with contemporary issues and events, through exhibitions, workshops and peer events.
This is an exciting time to join the team as they are going through an exciting period of creativity and growth, developing and implementing new products and programmes to empower young people with the knowledge, skills and confidence to challenge all forms of prejudice and discrimination.
In the West Midlands you will be responsible for the management and delivery of an innovative new programme designed to help young people understand the dangers of prejudice and discrimination, particularly online, where they are being increasingly exposed to hate speech. It combines several of their traditional programmes and finialises with a new element to create a social media campaign to tackle an issue of prejudice or discrimination that concerns them in their school or local community and can be run in both secondary and primary settings.
As the London Regional Manager you will work alongside 7 other regional managers spread across the UK and be part of an overall team of 20. You will be responsible for the management and delivery of the programmes as described above across the West Midlands, and will be expected to grow the reach in the region. You will also be asked to contribute to the development and revision of products, programmes and resources with your fellow education team members. You will be line manager to a Project Officer, and also responsible for the management of two freelance educators.
Coming from full time experience working with children and young people in an educational or youth work setting, ideally at KS3/secondary school age, you will have experience of creating products, programmes or resources for use in educational or youth work setting.
You will have had direct line management experience over at least one member of staff; and ideally have had sole responsibility for a function within an organisation as well as experience of managing and delivering projects on time and within budget.
This role will involve some travel across the UK and therefore include occasional overnight stays on adhoc basis, however the organisation has a great flexible working environment with working from home and flexible working hours.
