This amazing disability charity are looking for a Policy and Public Affairs professional to come and join their team. Within this role you can look forward to providing key support for the policy and public affairs team at an exciting time for this outstanding charity. You will be producing evidence-based policy and research work which will put the voice of the service users are its heart. You will be playing a key role in the disseminating research to parliamentarians, both a national and local level, to change policy in line with the betterment of service users.
You will be completing research work into new or developing government and opposition party policy, to identify risks and opportunities within to complete analysis and support the development of recommendations for organisational positioning. You will be working closely with the line manager, Policy and Public Affairs Manager, to develop and implement organisational messaging, and prepare briefings for meetings and visits from parliamentarians and government officials. You will be working with high level stakeholders, both internally and within the UK political sphere.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have knowledge/experience of working in parliament
- A strong understanding of the UK political process, including who key decisions makers are
- Experience of analysing complex public policy to produce clear policy stances
- A strong writing ability
