An ideal opportunity for a Philanthropy / Major Donors Manager to join a well-established UK-wide specialist charity, currently in the process of spearheading new ventures in England, Scotland and Wales. This organization has a great reputation for encouraging a supportive culture and nurturing employees to succeed in their chosen role. The role is full time, based in their South London office, with some flexibility on home-working available also.

You will be working within a team of five, building relationships with potential new supporters, working closely with the Head of Philanthropy, Director of Fundraising and Marketing and other members of their Senior Management Team. You will be responsible for continuing the strategic development of the organisation's Development Board, stewarding and recruiting new donors, and organising both cultivation and stewardship events. You will also line manage the Philanthropy Executive, whose role it is to conduct research on potential funders, and to support the delivery of Philanthropy events.

With regards to experience, essential criteria would be as follows:

  • Experience of high value fundraising and relationship management including proven success in securing five-figure gifts.
  • Proven demonstrable experience in face-to-face asking.
  • Proven experience of identifying, cultivating and recruiting new supporters.
  • A successful track record in meeting challenging income targets.
  • Experience of undertaking projects independently and seeing projects through to completion.
  • Experience of researching.

This role would suit a highly proactive and self-sufficient individual, with an ability to work independently and self-motivate as needed. We are looking to speak to collaborative team players, with a passion for developing relationships, and a willingness to work variable hours, with occasional weekend and evening work included. The role will also offer opportunities to travel within the UK (expenses covered and time off in lieu provided).
