A small charity with a network of shops across the UK is seeking a part-time Logistics & Distribution Manager for a day per week part-time role. The role will be for a 6 month fixed term contract duration and will primarily be based in the charity’s west London headquarters. There will be some travel across the UK.
-Managing delivery and removal of books, stock and signage to new charity shop premises
-Managing relationships and timescales with suppliers, vehicles and couriers
-Arranging deliveries and volunteers
-Reporting the above to the charity’s management using Excel spreadsheets
-Coordinating the opening up and closing down on book shops to tight deadlines
-Coordinate health and safety activities for bookshops
-Occasional travel to sites across the UK
-Previous experience in a facilities management or logistics role
-Understanding of procurement and contract negotiation
-Experience managing removals to tight deadlines
-Strong understanding of health & safety and fire risk assessments
-An interest in the charity sector
-Excellent written and verbal English
