A small international children’s charity based in south-east London is seeking a part-time Head of Finance for a 3 day per week permanent role. You will be the most senior finance person in the organisation and will make up part of the senior management team. The role will involve a blend of hands-on accounting and financial strategy.

The role will involve:

-Management of the UK arm of the charity’s finances.

-Lead on financial strategy, annual budgeting and financial compliance for the organisation

-Production of the annual statutory accounts and audit

-Production of monthly management accounts and MI for the board

-Calculation and submission of all VAT, Payroll, PAYE and Gift-Aid calculations

-Management on international grants and funds

-Management of 1 part-time bookkeeper

-Some liaising with the overseas branches in India, Nepal and Tanzania, and producing consolidated accounts

Candidate requirements:

-Fully-qualified Accountant (ACA – ACCA – CIMA) preferred

-In depth understanding of charity SORP

-Experience of setting budgets, providing management information and delivery of financial strategy

-Staff management experience and the ability to disseminate complex financial information to a variety of stakeholders

-Experience with Sage accounting package
