An exciting opportunity to join YoungMinds – the voice for young people’s mental health and wellbeing!
YoungMinds’ Parents’ Helpline Service continues to be a lifeline for thousands of parents and carers worried about the emotional problems or behaviour of a child or young person, helping more than 10,000 families in 2013/14.
YoungMinds relies on volunteers to support the delivery of our unique Parents’ Helpline service. We are looking for volunteers with:
- Good communication, interpersonal and IT skills;
- An awareness of the emotional difficulties families can face, the impact these can have on children, and the different kinds of help available.
In return for your time, you will receive 30-40 hours training with our experienced team of Helpline staff and the opportunity to develop your telephone support skills and your understanding of the field of children and young peoples’ mental health and wellbeing across the UK. Induction and ongoing training and support, as well as a travel and subsistence allowance, will be provided.
