Volunteer with Comrades of Children Overseas (COCO) and venture out to rural Tanzania for four weeks in the summer! We'll be living fully immersed within a rural Tanzanian community near Songea, Southern Tanzania and providing assistance with English and Sports classes in a local school. On your time off and at weekends you can expect many cultural excursions; a trip down to the shores of Lake Malawi is always a highlight!
Most importantly though you'll be helping a COCO supported local school in providing quality, sustainable education to children that otherwise would struggle to access it. By your own fundraising and personal involvement, you will be creating brighter futures for children in these communities. It only costs you £150 for the four weeks, and we ask for a fundraising target of £1500 in order to really give back to the school you've been working in. The price includes all of your in-country transfers, most meals, all accommodation and a trip to Lake Malawi. It does not include flights, visas, travel insurance or spending money.
If you're passionate about children's welfare, love working with people and are keen to experience life in a rich cross-cultural context then this opportunity is for you! Twelve opportunities are available for this role, six beginning 1st July 2020 and another six 1st August 2020, but places are filling fast so don't waste time in getting signed up!
We will provide orientation training and assistance with fundraising in the lead up to heading out and will need to undertake background checks to ensure the safety of you and those whom you will live and work amongst.
