TTP are working with a well established Charity to recruit an out of schools club leader. This role would involved working 22.5 hours a week . 2pm to 6.30pm Monday to Friday. It would also involve working during half terms to run the holiday club.
They close over the Christmas period. They offer free child care for staff's children. They also offer a free gym membership.
This role would require Level 3 NVQ child care or play work. Managing/supervising staff.
The Out of Hours Club Leader will be responsible for the day to day management of playwork staff, including conducting appraisals and will manage timetables and rotas for the teams.
The postholder will be expected to make decisions within routine parameters of the job role, referring to the Out of Schools Childcare Manager where appropriate and ensuring that the designated setting delivers outstanding childcare in a safe, secure, fun and stimulating environment
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Planning the provision of safe, creative, appropriate play opportunities and preparation of activities in accordance with Ofsted frameworks and ensuring compliance with all regulations
Preparing activities, organising programmes/ themes and arranging equipment
Ensuring that all activities are inclusive for all children to take part in
Developing and maintaining good relationships and communications with parents/carers
Consulting with the children and involve them in the planning of activities
Sharing good practice with other playworkers as needed
Ensuring playworkers demonstrate good practice
Drawing up the weekly timetable and rota for Playworkers and arranging cover for planned and unplanned absences
Contributing to the performance management of Playworkers
Liaising with the Out Of Schools Childcare Manager and bringing to their attention any relevant matters in connection with the running of the club
Supervision and care of children
Undertaking day to day administration of the provision including day sheets, signing children in and out and recording information in the diary
Providing full care for the children including delivering the children to and from school and safe delivery to parents/carers/guardians
Helping with meal service
Overseeing activities and ensuring they are carried out in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with statutory responsibilities;
Ensuring that risk assessments are completed prior to commencing activities with children
Actively promoting and supporting the safeguarding of children and young people in the workplace, ensuring that all staff and volunteers observe policies and procedures to keep children safe from harm
Ensuring the Setting offers a high quality, inclusive environment which meets the needs of all children, regardless of culture, religion, and physical or emotional development
Ensuring children are collected in strict accordance with the Child Collection Policy
Ensuring confidentially within the Setting at all times
Administering First Aid when necessary and completing relevant documentation (e.g. accident reporting etc)
