Director Recruitment

We are looking for up to two Directors (non-executive) to join our established Board, help shape the future and guide both our growth and continued success over the coming years.

About Windsor Academy Trust

Windsor Academy Trust (WAT) is a family of schools committed to unlocking students’ academic and personal potential.

We put children at the centre of everything we do, delivering excellent education to 9,000 students  aged two to 18 driven by 1,300 committed, inspiring and talented staff.

Established in 2011 with Windsor High School and Sixth Form, our family has grown to fifteen successful schools. We currently have seven primary and eight secondary schools all located within one hour of each other.

We serve the most disadvantaged and vulnerable children across the West Midlands (in Priority Education Investment Areas and Education Investment Areas) and areas very close to their borders through the development of strong learning communities. Our family reach will be expanding with further plans for growth.

Who we are looking for

Our well established Board uses a blend of knowledge, skills, perspectives and backgrounds to govern the trust effectively.  To build upon the skills of our existing Directors, we are currently seeking an individual with specific skills, knowledge and experience in human resources.

Whilst skills, knowledge and experience are important, diversity is a powerful instrument for effective governance.  We believe passionately that the Board should represent the communities we serve, as well as wider society and should promote, demonstrate and embed inclusive behaviours, practices and cultures across our family.  We therefore welcome and encourage the interest of individuals from diverse backgrounds and underrepresented groups

What difference will you make?

Being a Director with Windsor Academy Trust is deeply rewarding as it allows you to impact the life chances of children.  In order to unlock our students’ academic and personal potential, it’s vital we have individuals with the right expertise leading our schools and holding our executive team accountable.

As well as looking for an opportunity to give something back to society, being a Director will provide opportunities to build your experience in strategic decision-making at senior level or demonstrate your ability to perform in a non-executive position as part of a portfolio career.
