Night Project Worker
North East London
Permanent; Full Time
£18,900 - £24,300 plus Outer London weighting circa £1800

TPP's client, a leading children's charity is looking for a Night Project worker to work in their East London premises.

Our client has made a long-term commitment to bettering the future for children and strives to protect those most vulnerable in our society. Whether sheltering young people from abusive circumstances or in working with foster and adoption services, our client works tirelessly to ensure quality of life improves for all children in need. The job of Night Project Worker is one that plays a crucial role in these services, contributing towards the safety and wellbeing of children in their care.

Situated in east London, this short-break residential service provides support within a modern and close-nit setting. The nature of the work is such that there is a focus on activities in the home and provision is made for children with disabilities as well those in the mainstream. With the decor designed by residential staff, the scheme aims to provide a homely feel for all of the recipients of its care as well as the project workers themselves.

The role itself is one that requires a conscientious and organized operative and the successful applicant for the job of Night Project Worker will be expected to provide care across a broad range of needs. Duties will include managing and being responsible for children in an overnight residential setting. Direct care will be part of the role, however the job will entail not only a high degree of compassion but also the administrative skills required for a handover session at the beginning and end of each shift. As the role will involve dealing with vulnerable children familiarity with best practice and procedure will be central to the job as all incidents or accidents will have to be recorded and filed.

Work will also involve night rotas, so the ability to stay alert and observe the sleeping patterns of young people is expected of the candidate; while a certain amount of daytime attendance will be required for team meetings and training sessions. Due to the nature of the work, basic first aid proficiency is also required and the ability to work calmly under stress.

Our client is looking for someone with experience of working with children and young in a residential setting. The ability to manage challenging behaviour with support and guidance is a must, as is the capacity to build appropriate relationships with young people. Knowledge of Safeguarding Children and Child protection is essential and an NVQ3 in Caring for Children and Young people, or equivalent, is required.

If you are interested in the above position and meet the above requirements, please send your CV to quoting reference J50284 or contact Penny Antoniou on 02071986070

Closing Date for CVs: Friday 30th of October
