This fantastic health charity are looking for a media manager to come and join them for 12 months to cover for a maternity leave. Within this role you can look forward to managing the day to day function of the press and media relations team at this nationally renowned health charity. You will be managing, developing and driving the charity's media and PR activities, and provide comprehensive media and PR support for all internal stakeholders, including reputation management. You will be ensuring high-profile public and media relations to achieve coverage across national, regional, consumer, trade and broadcast media which supports the charity's strategic goals and communicates key messages to target audiences.
Line managing a team of 4 direct reports, with 2 being based remotely, and with a dotted line to one other member of staff, you will be playing a key role in generating media coverage for this charity's key campaigns throughout the year. Towards the end of the contract, you will also be contributing towards the charity's 5 year strategy for media relations, and working closely with the Deputy Director of PR and Communications to ensure the best media coverage is gained for this amazing charity.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be an experienced media relations professional, at a national and local level
- Have line management experience and experience of managing a busy press office
- Have experience of managing media relations for major national campaigns
