If so, one of the world's largest Libraries whose archives contain over 170 million items including rare manuscripts & sound recordings. Home to over 25 million books and one of the largest historical collections in the world are looking to appoint a Marketing Manager to join their team

Working within the strategic plan established by the Head of Marketing Campaigns and the Head of Development, to take responsibility for planning, coordinating, and managing the delivery of marketing campaigns to meet corporate and fundraising targets for the Library.

As the Marketing Manager, you will be tasked to bring to life the library's vision through their corporate and brand activities and communications, reaching and engaging a wide variety of audiences from sponsors to sector peers.

To work closely with the Development department and the Digital Engagement, Audience Insight and Data, Design and Press teams to produce compelling, integrated campaigns, marketing content and fundraising collateral.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • As the Marketing Manager, you will develop strong, content-led marketing plans for the library's corporate, brand and fundraising campaigns, under the direction of the Head of Marketing Campaigns and senior Development staff where relevant, ensuring key performance indicators are met
  • To work with the Marketing and Press teams and other colleagues to increase the profile of the British Library nationally and internationally to help retain, attract, and secure potential supporters, sponsors, parliamentarians, and other stakeholder audiences, and maintain positive brand association as a global leader within its sector
  • To engage with internal stakeholders across the library, to develop a comprehensive understanding of organisational objectives and target audiences and ensure this is intrinsic to the marketing planning process
  • To work closely with the Development, Digital Engagement, Data and Audience Insight, Design and Press teams to plan, brief and implement integrated communications campaigns, with clearly defined targets, timescales, and outcomes, and ensure that messaging is aligned with wider brand campaigns and communications
  • To advocate for internal clients within organisational planning and to help integrate agreed messaging into wider Library communications e.g., support messaging.

Your experience will include:

  • Substantial marketing experience within a fundraising (charity, research or cultural) environment
  • Relevant experience of digital and/or content marketing
  • Knowledge of data protection regulations and the impact on fundraising best practice
  • A demonstrated creative marketing flare and a deep-seated passion for the UK's intellectual heritage
  • Confident and skilful communicator, from presentations to copywriting
  • Experience managing multiple projects to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment that requires coordination between cross-functional teams
  • Meticulous project scoping, planning, costing, and timing
  • An instinct for collaboration - able to work effectively inside and outside the immediate team to achieve objectives
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate, influence cross-functional teams without direct authority, and build effective relationships with stakeholders and staff at all levels.
