The TPP Fundraising and Development team are supporting an innovative medical research charity with the search for a Major Donor Manager. This is a 12 month contract, reporting to the Head of Major Giving and managing a small team of staff.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and ambitious fundraiser to join our established Major Giving team, capitalising on recent growth and with the chance to really make your mark. Your role is to engage some of the most influential and high-profile people in the UK. You will provide the highest level of stewardship, ensure existing supporters feel valued and effective and inspire them to make five and six figure gifts to the charity. You will lead on the management and growth of the Pioneers giving programme, maintaining the charity's reputation for excellent events and communications.
Working closely with our Major Donor Executive, Prospect Research Executive and colleagues in the wider Fundraising team, you'll build the pipeline and develop new ways to engage potential major donors. You'll also harness the support of our enthusiastic and influential Trustees and Leadership Team, involving them in asks and thanking, as well as attending events.
In order to be considered for this role, you will need to have significant experience of major donor fundraising and a proven track record of achieving five figure gifts at a minimum. You will have outstanding persuasion, negotiation and communication skills, along with the ability to develop strong relationships with high net worth individuals, Trustees and Directors. Able to trust your instincts when steering donor meetings and communications, you can get to the heart of what motivates someone and create compelling propositions which meet the needs of both them and the charity. You will have a solid understanding of the requirements for a successful major donor fundraising programme, as well as good knowledge of charity law in relation to major donor fundraising. You'll need to be experienced and comfortable with managing budgets and forecasting.
