The RNLI Fistral Lifeguard Visitor Centre is a brand new initiative which aims to help save lives at sea by promoting the work of the RNLI within the local and tourist population, to help raise awareness of water safety messages and generate life-saving funds. It is the first RNLI Lifeguard focused visitor centre.
The Visitor Centre will provide a unique and free opportunity for individuals and groups to experience the RNLI’s work, learn about how to stay safe on the beach and in the water, and support the charity. The facility will be open daily for visitors and can be booked for bespoke educations visits. We offer fun interactive sessions both at the centre and out in the community, delivered by experienced volunteer presenters.
We are looking for volunteers to join the Fistral Lifeguard Visitor Centre team to help develop the centre in its early stages, welcome visitors, give inspiring guided tours of our new interactive facility and develop community links.
For many people, visiting the centre will be the first time that they come into contact with the RNLI, and as a Lifeguard Visitor Centre volunteer you and other team members could be the people that engage and inspire them to support us now and in the future, and to stay safe. Your welcoming and enthusiastic nature will ensure that the Lifeguard Visitor Centre is a friendly and attractive place to visit, fully representing the RNLI values.
Would you like to be part of this new and exciting development at Fistral? Could you give a few hours a week to interact with visitors, and show them around? A lifeguarding background is not essential but enthusiasm for the RNLI and an ability to communicate well is. Training and support for the role will be provided.
