Our client, a national health charity, are looking for a Knowledge Manager to join the team on a fixed term contract basis for 3-6 months. Reporting to the Head of Policy, Knowledge, Health and Information, you will lead a small team providing them with clinical and data analysis direction and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop sound evidence bases that direct and underpin activity to transform diagnosis, treatment and support.
  • Strategically balance a range of sometimes conflicting priorities and evidence to help shape strategic decisions.
  • Conduct in-house qualitative and quantitative research to fill gaps in evidence/knowledge, including delivery of a clinical data strategy.
  • Lead analysis of new external research and data to build our knowledge base.
  • Oversee the regular updating of our best practice pathway
  • Respond with speed and accuracy to requests from other teams that require evidence input.
  • Contribute to horizon scanning activity to ensure that the charity is fully informed about developments in research or clinical practice.
  • Oversee a data map that shows the current state of care across the UK, and drives decisions about their priorities.
  • Ensure the effective and accurate use of evidence and knowledge by the organisation, leading and participating in cross-organisational projects.
  • Use research and evidence to shape external change priorities, give credibility to communications and underpin policy and practice recommendations for change.
  • Lead the setting of data projections that estimate the outcomes for patients that our organisational strategy can achieve.

Person Specification:

  • Educated to postgraduate level ideally in a health epidemiology or a biomedical science discipline
  • Capable of quickly building clinical knowledge across a pathway
  • Excellent communicator - confident in communicating evidence convincingly to a range of stakeholders and maintain our credibility as an evidence-led organisation
  • Possess analytical skills across qualitative and quantitative data, including analysing statistical data from clinical trials and clinical audits
  • Ability to identify & manipulate data sources for health economics or population projections' modelling
  • Ability to conduct or commission independent research that draws on external data sources, with experience of designing and developing research that creates new data sources / evidence
  • Ability to critically appraise a range of evidence sources and establish a balanced conclusion to recommend how the evidence is used
  • Understanding of the journal publication processes and experience in achieving publication of research.
  • Ability to identify new advances and information in health care and support and establish their significance.
  • Experience in leading and participating in cross-organisational projects and advising others on research methodologies.

This role offers flexible remote working with regular travel to their London office (currently closed due to Covid-19 restrictions)
