A leading membership charity based on a single-site in central London is seeking an experienced IT Systems Administrator for a 1 year FTC contract position.
The IT team has recently restructured, and the organisation is going through a period of Digital change.
This translates to creating new servers where required (built on a VMWare hypervisor) as well as maintaining existing servers, looking after the helpdesk for circa 60 staff and maintaining infrastructure which is comprised of Windows 10 Client PCs, Networking, Telephones and AudioVisual equipment in our conference rooms. The IT team are collectively responsible for ensuring compliance/support of all systems and system security, GDPR and PCI DSS Compliance.
The charity is undergoing a digital transformation which is in its early stages. As a result, the website(s) will be re-developed and back end systems reviewed with a view to replacing them.
The role of the IT Systems Administrator will be to keep the IT systems operational and maintain business as usual (BAU). This means supporting all servers, clients, and infrastructure and looking at improving processes/streamlining tasks, meaning the IT team can work more efficiently.
The contract is for 12 months, working 35 hours per week, but the senior IT team also operates an 'out of hours' rota for tasks such a system upgrades etc. this takes place monthly; the charity operates flexi time and its core hours are 10AM-4PM.
This is a single site operation, although the organisation is international.
They operate in the cloud, Office 365 and have a wide portfolio of IT and communications systems - accounting, HR, LMS, micro-sites, CRM etc and VC, VOID telephony and AV etc.
This role will suit someone who enjoys working in a small team with face to face contact with users and is keen to broaden their experience, learning and development.
Essential knowledge and understanding of:
-Microsoft Server operating systems (2008R2, 2012, 2012R2, 2016)
-Microsoft Network services: Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Print and file sharing.
-Standard Microsoft desktop products - Windows 10, Office 365, Office 2016, Visio, Skype For Business, etc.
-Cyber-security - anti-virus, email security solutions, patch management, firewalls, and log analysis.
-MWare ESXi and vCentre server, together with server hardware experience and Storage Array experience. (DELL EqualLogic and Netapp E Series).
-Backup and restore software and services (VEEAM).
-VoIP (cloud-hosted telephony) and IPSEC/SSL VPN.
Advantageous to have knowledge of:
-Integra (membership and CRM), Kentico CMS, Microsoft Dynamics GP, and Wrike.
-Helpdesk ticketing systems, particularly ManageEngine Service Desk Plus
-Physical and logical LAN and WAN infrastructure principles.
-Microsoft SQL server administration and TSQL.
-Mac OS X exposure.
