A small Energy & Consumer Advice Charity based in central London is seeking an interim Systems / Project Accountant for an interesting new role.
The role is likely to last 6-8 months and will be for 3 days per week.
The charity currently outsources their accounts to an LLP, of which the charity is a member, and the main task of this role is to successfully transition the accounting function and all accounting procedures back in-house to the charity.
The role will involve:
-Overseeing bringing the charity’s accounts function in-house
-Completing the metrics for the accounting system. I.e Transaction volumes, capabilities (including matters such as VAT, payroll input, payment options, BACS, credit card receipts, bank file input for reconciliation etc)
-Improving the Management Reporting capability
-Assessing the chart of accounts, analysis structure and coding to reduce spreadsheet preparation
-Recommendation and implementation of an appropriate accounting system with help from the IT department (Most likely Sage, SUN, Quickbooks etc)
-Training of new staff prior to the go live date
The successful candidate will:
-Be a fully-qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA etc)
-Have prior experience in similar project and systems focused accounting roles in a comparable organisation
-Be highly technical, analytical and flexible by nature
This would best suit an experienced charity accountant with a strong history of interim project and systems work. Applicants who are available at short notice would be ideal.
