TPP?s client, a leading mental health advocacy charity is looking for an Interim Regional Director wo work out of their London offices.

As a non-profit organisation, the aims and goals of our client are always centred on engaging with vulnerable groups to further their interests; providing a range of support to clientele that include people with mental health issues and a history of substance misuse. The role of this organisation is to provide advocacy and support for these people, delivering counsel and guidance for those in need and supporting and pushing for the rights of such groups. The work involves a strong understanding of legal rights but also includes a community aspect.

The job of the Interim Regional Director will be crucial to furthering the aims of our client. As a senior role, the position will involve taking control and responsibility for the overall provision of services in the Region; maintaining quality of services and meeting user expectations. This role will involve a considerable amount of autonomy within a policy and practice framework, providing leadership and management to a team of between 40 and 70 staff with 5 to 7 service managers within your remit. Business development will be a key factor in this job and any applicant should expect to work closely with a BD team to secure new services in line with their social mission; devising new ways of working based on user views and requirements. As a result of the continually changing nature of legal frameworks surrounding advocacy in the UK this position will also require a high degree of forward planning, being able to take account of predicated problems will be key.

The successful candidate will have considerable experience of leading and motivating large teams (minimum 30 people) to deliver life changing services for others should be able to demonstrate management of managers. The ability to handle operational budgets of over ?1million is a must as the ability to develop and manage partner relationships. Knowledge of advocacy and health issues will be required for as will a general management qualification (MBA, Diploma in Management or equivalent). Due to the potential for travel in this role, the successful candidate will also be required to hold a full driving licence and be comfortable with travelling and staying away on business for up to 2 nights a month.
