Are you an experienced Finance Assistant with payroll experience seeking to join a fantastic arts organisation? I am working with a well-established not-for-profit client seeking to appoint an Finance Assistant to join their finance team on a 6-month fixed term contract. You will be working within a team of 6 and reporting directly into the Finance Manager. The main responsibility for the role is to ensure smooth running of all finance support including accounts payable and supporting the weekly payroll.
Authorisation for payment and cost coding for invoice from budget holders
To assist with the application of credit accounts with suppliers
Entry of invoices into the accounts package, applying the appropriate VAT code
Check expense and petty cash receipts against claim before paying.
Working with the Finance Officer, to process weekly payroll using Sage Payroll
Administration of employee starters and leavers on payroll system in line with HMRC compliance
To assist with processing weekly payroll using Sage Payroll
Working with departments and Finance Officer to ensure receipts of authorised timesheets for weekly and monthly payroll
To assist with recording of cost to recharge to Cut Bar
You will be working closely with the Finance Officer and supporting the Finance Function as necessary. This fixed term contract is to start ASAP working a 35 hour week in their vibrant office space in South East London. It is essential for this role that you have used a Sage accounting package and have experience within Payroll. The successful candidate must also come from a charity or not-for-profit background.
