A leading health charity headquartered in central London is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Architect for an exciting new role. The successful applicant will play a key role in managing the organisation’s current and future IT business needs. Key projects will include Encryption, Video Conferencing, Cloud hosting, Office 365 implementation, telephony improvements – whilst increasingly moving towards an agile environment.

The role will involve:

-To install, manage and upgrade file servers running Windows and VM operating systems.

-To develop, manage and support the transition from Exchange email system to Office 365.

-To effectively deliver a reliable backup and restore process, regularly monitor and test backups to ensure these are functioning correctly.

-To be responsible for system maintenance such as the updating of software patches to desktop and server systems.

-To lead day to day development and testing of DR and Business Continuity plans.

-To undertake basic maintenance of Microsoft SQL databases.

-To visit the National/Regional Centres as required and provide support and maintenance for the local IT hardware and software.

-To represent the IT team at various forums internally and externally.

-Deputise for the Head of IT, and work alongside Head of IT on IT strategy

-Ad-hoc IT support

Candidate requirements:

-Substantial experience in the design, implementation, supervision and running of a complex corporate voice and data infrastructure.

-Demonstrable experience in the planning and delivering business change on technical projects with positive and measurable impact.

-Experience in implementing and supporting high availability it systems that support employees in an agile setting.

-Significant experience of windows 7 desktop and server operating systems using 2008/12 including key features such as hyperv and AD, together with experience of deployment, administration and maintenance, via the use of tools such as group policy and sysprep.

-Significant experience of the planning, deployment and administration of MS exchange and office 365 email systems.

-Significant experience of using windows remote desktop services or citrix to rollout applications to user desktops.

-Significant experience of using and supporting Microsoft office 2010/13 including outlook, word, excel as well as access or vbs programming.

-Substantial experience of undertaking it infrastructure projects independently and seeing them through from inception to completion on time and to budget.

-Thorough understanding of both local and cloud infrastructure

-Ideally Degree qualified or equivalent

-A passion for the charity sector is desirable
