Fixed Term until 31/01/2019

37.5 hours per week

The Organisation:

TPP’s client is a charity funded by a local council who offer a range of community and residential services for problem drinkers and their families. Services include confidential advice, information and ongoing support to help reduce the negative effects of alcohol misuse on individuals and the community. Supporting over 15,000 people, they are one of very few organisations to focus exclusively on alcohol through their work in service delivery, consultancy and campaigning.

The Role:

Reporting to the Alcohol Treatment Service Team Leader and the Head of Alcohol Treatment Service, this post will provide interventions to people with alcohol-related problems in the primary care setting. This involves providing clinic cover with the Alcohol Treatment Team Leader to at least 4 regular GP clinics within the borough, conducting comprehensive assessments, delivering advice and interventions, and lifestyle counselling around alcohol to patients. Coordination of referrals and integration with wider alcohol treatment services and recovery services, will be an integral part of the role.

About You:

A natural communicator, you will have experience conducting comprehensive assessments for service users entering substance misuse treatment, and delivering treatment interventions to alcohol misusing services users. You will be able to manage sensitive data including recording clinical case notes, have excellent time-management skills to coordinate appointments, and have therapeutic skills with vulnerable adults. As the role will be based at multiple clinic sites across North London, you will be flexible to travel to these sites, and able to work outside of normal office hours when required.
