TPP are currently recruiting an HR Manager for a Museum based in Central London . This contract is a 6 month fixed term contract and is to start asap.
- Provide support to line managers when vacancies arise to determine most appropriate recruitment process and activities
- Provide advice on salary level to ensure fairness and consistency
- Ensure all recruitment processes are fair and enable the recruitment of the best person for the job in all circumstances
- Interview candidates with recruiting managers where necessary
- Ensure compliance in the administration of DBS checks for staff record keeping and handling of information
- Prepare offer letters and contracts of employment
- Maintain diversity monitoring database
Policy development and maintenance:
- Ensure all current policies and Employee Handbook are reviewed and kept up to date in response to changes in legislation and/ or museum procedures
- Develop new policies as required to ensure compliance with legislation and regulations
- Ensure all those who work for the museum are familiar with content of policies using appropriate communication methods
Coaching, advice and support:
- Support the line managers, in setting and implementing policies and strategies for the museum's development and making the most effective use of all people resources
- Provide ongoing coaching and advice to managers in handling full range of people issues to ensure best outcomes for the museum and the individuals concerned
- Support Senior Management Team in implementing organisational change to ensure implications for those who work for the museum are considered and full compliance with employment legislation
- Be available for staff at all levels to provide support and/or to answer queries or concerns
Training and development:
- Ensure all those new to the Museum receive an effective induction.
- Work with managers and staff to identify most appropriate training and development activities to meet needs
- Maintain training records for all training and development activity completed
- Liaise with Director of Finance to ensure value for money on all external training
- Arrange appropriate training workshops to address specific training and development needs e.g. Disability Awareness
- Ensure evaluation of all training and development activity is carried out to measure impact of this on the performance of individuals and achievement of the museum's objectives
Criteria:
- Stand-alone/charity or arts organisation experience (3-5 years)
- Supported organisational change
- Experience with using HR systems to manage employee data
- A CIPD qualification (level 7 desirable)
