TPP’s client is seeking an assertive alcohol abuse specialist to join their vibrant and outcome orientated team.
Our client, a leading provider of support for people struggling with alcohol addiction in North London work collaboratively with national and local charities to offer fantastic life changing services including; Advice and Guidance on treatment, family support, managing cravings and much, much more. They have been established for over 20 years and are now seeking to develop their team of professionals further.
The Hospital Liaison Link Worker is tasked with identifying clients who are known to the charity and are frequent visitors of the local hospitals. The main goal once these clients are identified is to reach out to them with the view to enhance their engagement with the services.
The Hospital Liaison Link Worker will be expected to provide 1:1 psychosocial intervention in order to engage them with the wider alcohol service available; this is achieved by carrying out comprehensive assessments and basic occupational health assessments to identify the exact need of the client. Referrals will then be made to the appropriate teams along with regular meetings and updates with the clients and professionals involved in their rehabilitation and treatment plans. The Link worker will also be required to support clients to attend appointments and ensure follow through takes place. The job involves collaborative working with statutory and voluntary prescribing services along with advocating the clients wishes and encouraging medication compliance.
To be considered for this job, you will need to hold an NVQ level 3 in Health or Social Care or equivalent. You will also need a minimum of 2 years’ experience working with individuals with alcohol or substance misuse, ideally within a therapeutic setting. The skills you will need to demonstrate are; conducting comprehensive assessments including risk assessments, support planning, use of treatment outcomes profile, excellent communication; both written and verbal and the ability to maintain professional boundaries at all times.
