A client, based in West London has a requirement for a Higher Education Policies and Projects Manager to join them on a 6-month contract. This is a hybrid role, but there may be some scope for the role to be fully remote if that's essential to you, so please still apply.

Reporting into the Deputy Principle, the Higher Education Policies and Projects Manager will support the work of the Higher Education Administration Team at a critical time for this client during a wide-ranging review of its higher education policy framework and the establishment of a new student services team prior to the start of the 2022/23 academic year.

About The Role

This client particularly welcomes applications from those who have a track record of developing student-related policies and managing quality assurance projects within a higher education context. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to demonstrate a high level of autonomy and decision making.

You will also possess strong project management skills and be able to manage competing priorities to tight deadlines with an ability to hit the ground running in a challenging environment. The role offers the successful candidate an opportunity to lead work that is critical to the successful development and implementation of academic policies and procedures that support and enhance the experience of the students and meet external regulatory requirements.

Key duties of the role:

  • Lead the development and implementation of a number of HE academic policies and procedures that meet the requirements of the institution, as well as the requirements of our regulatory bodies.

  • Work in partnership with colleagues across the institution and with Higher Education students as key stakeholders in the development of policies to deliver successful outcomes.

  • Actively seek to improve equality and diversity within the development of policies.

  • Support the development of best practice, innovation and learning.

  • Own and manage the delivery of projects, making decisions in the best interest of the project, with consideration for the wider activities of the team.

  • Work flexibly across the team adapting quickly to change and providing support to other areas of work as required.

  • Take an active role in promoting a positive working culture within the context of a restructured team and at a time of change

To be considered for this position, the client is seeking someone who offers:

  • Ideally a background within Higher Education, although the client will consider candidates from a different sector who is strong in writing and implementing policy

  • Experienced in writing policies and implementing the policies; someone who can understand 'the rules' behind the policy

  • A Self-starter who can be pro-active and support the team
