Are you looking to further your career as a Healthcare Assistant? As a core member of the clinical and nursing team you will be expected to work autonomously and as part of a team in order to deliver exceptional healthcare and ensure the smooth running of the hospice. You will join a friendly team and have the opportunity to work with the nurses in a brand new inpatient unit at a fantastic hospice in Poole, East Dorset.
The hospice provides wonderful care and support to local people with cancer, Parkinson's disease and other other life limiting illnesses. The key function for this role is to contribute to maintaining the inpatient unit, provide high standards of palliative care and to provide empathetic support to friends and family.
Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver patient nursing care as delegated by the nurse, which includes dressing of minor wounds
- Providing emotional support to friends and family
- To undertake observation and monitoring tasks as delegated by the nurse, including blood sugar levels, blood pressure, etc.
We are looking for someone with an NVQ level 2 or 3 or equivalent, previous experience working in the NHS or hospice setting and emotionally able to work within palliative care.
